Paleo: Month 3

Okay, so life got in the way and I didn’t track my Week 3 of Paleo… Or anything thereafter, but I didn’t quit either. Except for the one night I had pizza and Thanksgiving… and Christmas. I couldn’t resist! I think that’s where things got interesting though in this journey.

As I sit here writing this I’m currently THREE MONTHS Paleo. Which I think is the longest I’ve ever held on to a diet/ lifestyle change. I lacked at the gym for a couple of weeks from being sick and just being really busy with life, but here I am SEVENTEEN WHOLE POUNDS lighter. Which is something I’ve never seen myself accomplish. So as I sit here writing this I know that this diet is going to be a long term thing, and I’m not going to sit here and tell you that I was 100% Paleo the whole time. I had quite a few drinks with my friends, I had a few pieces and bites of food that was out of my diet plan, and I creeped everyone out by sniffing their pizza when it was close to me. What I learned was that a bite is NOT GOING  TO KILL YOU. It’s not.

However, you can easily derail yourself. I almost did a few times. Luckily I have the most incredible friends who would send me Paleo recipes or make sure there was a plain hamburger patty for me at the BBQ or would make sure things were Paleo friendly like “We’re going to go to [insert local restaurant]… Wait. Is that Paleo? We can go somewhere else!” Without that, I’m not sure I would have lasted this long. My pants are fitting 10x better even though I’m still a hop, skip, and a jump away from my original weight, and my regular belt loop hole has been abandoned.

So there’s my update… and in the wise words of Kourtney Kardashian…
